Y’all! Sorry. A lot has been going on this summer! Feels like it’s time for some highlights.
I moved! Just from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor of the same building, but still a move. I’m amazed the difference that extra set of stairs makes such a difference when doing laundry (in the basement) or bringing in groceries! I’m close to being unpacked, sort of! I’ve hung art, so that’s a big step in making the place feel like mine. The cats are adjusting well since the traumatic moving day. They are enjoying the new, closer views of the other animals outside.
I’m planning on going on a mission trip in November to Africa. 2 weeks in Uganda and 1 week in Malawi. I’ll share the details in a separate post. (here)
I’ve lost over 80 pounds! I also joined a gym and go regularly with a friend. My biggest/proudest accomplishment there is getting to 20 minutes on the elliptical. I could do more, but wouldn’t be able to walk after, lol! My doctors ran a bunch of blood test recently and everything thing has improved. So much that I had to wrap my brain around it actually being my results. They took me off 1 medication so far (blood pressure) and should be able to decrease/remove more after a few more months of maintaining the loss. Yay!
I am feeling better in most ways with the weight loss, but my sciatica hasn’t improved. It might not even be sciatica but my SI joint or something else. My neurologist said I have strength in my leg but it fatigues quickly, which could be an MS thing. But all my other symptoms are basically dormant, so I don’t know. Pain management doctors haven’t been successful either. I just take it one day at a time for now and do what I can.
