A whole lot of nothing… not really, but that’s what life feels like these days. I’ve sat down and wrote a few times, but nothing that has felt shareable. Nothing bad is going on, just hasn’t felt like anything newsworthy. I think that’s in part due to not writing. So…

If you ask me what’s been going on lately, I’m likely to just say not much. It’s not true though. In no particular order there’s health, cats, church, ministry, work, family, finances, and the multitude of subcategories that follow. Overall, I’m just tired. Not like I need to sleep tired, but mentally and emotionally drained. Again, I think not writing is a part of that. I tend to think I need something huge to talk about, but that’s not the singular reason for this blog. Life, faith, being real.

Health: hovering around 90 pounds lost in the past 2 years. Blood work looks amazing, and I do feel better. I work out somewhat regularly, aside from the last few weeks because some nasty allergies. I met with a plastic surgeon last month about a panniculectomy and tummy tuck, what an unreal experience. Never imagined I’d be in this situation, but I’m excited for the possible results. Nothing is scheduled yet because we’re waiting on insurance for the panniculectomy portion and to get the remaining sorted out. Maybe sometime this coming winter. I want to get my upper arms worked on too, but that’s not as pressing. The skin issues and back pain from the access skin in my abdominal area is getting troublesome.

Also health related, but also work related: insurance… ugh! The agency I work for now (merged last year) has a July-June fiscal year, so our policies changed/renewed on July 1. Health coverage is with the same provider, but the pharmacy/prescription carrier changed. This has resulted in major obstacles, primarily with my MS medication that I have been out of for 5 weeks now. Multitude of people ‘working on it’ and hopefully it’ll get figured out soon.

Work: is work. Some new projects but mostly just the same day-to-day data analysis. Which I like doing, for now anyway.

Family: Mom had shoulder surgery but is doing well and back at work. 1 of my aunts is having surgery next week for some GI issues and another is mourning her husband who died a few months ago.

Church/ministry: I still enjoy being on the tech team with church. I take care of a lot of the visual aspects of service, like posting the YouTube videos after editing them and adding captions. I also develop the presentation for the worship songs and speaker’s notes and then run that during service. We say ‘run slides’ but that jargon doesn’t really fit. Outside of that, I’ve met with a couple of ladies a few times over the summer to build relationships and discover who God has made us to be and uncover our callings. Work schedules and such have made meeting sporadic, but it’s been good. I also still facilitate the art therapy group with some fellow MS warriors. I love creating with them, teaching them and learning from them. I was asked to decorate a champagne bottle for auction for a recent fundraising dinner put on by NMSS. The dinner was wonderful, and it was an honor to be asked.

Finances: struggle bus. Praying for the mountain of debt and its curse to be removed from my life. It feels like quicksand. I’m seeking His Kingdom first and trusting His my Provider (Matthew 6:33).

Cats: I have 2. 1 had a bad ear infection that resulted in some vestibular trouble and the other needs dental work. I’ve finally figured out a way to get meds in both, but my girl still doesn’t trust me to have both hands near her face. But they are still as sweet and cuddley as always.

Hobbies: I’m so excited for Fall and cooler temps! I’m craving an opportunity for nature photography but it’s been way too hot. My neighbor has beautiful flowers growing outside. In the meantime, I’ve been crafting a lot over the summer and put together a few Lego or similar building block projects. I’ll share some of those pics soon.

I’m enjoying life regardless of being weary.

Hope you are all well!
