I think I out did myself by writing so much during my trip. or I just didn’t feel like talking. whatever. 🙂
So I haven’t been up to too much. Just getting caught up at work and at home. Took me a few weeks to recover physically, those trips knock me out for a while. And it looks like I’ll get to do it again next year!!! More on that on a later date.
I started a new MS med called Gilenya. It’s a pill instead of a shot, thank the Lord! The shots I used to do were either once a week (in a muscle) or 3x a week (under the skin) and made me sick for 1/2 a day or so after, and hurt! This pill is daily and no icky side effects. It does, however, lower my pulse and makes me tired. I was concerned at first that the depression was trying to come back, but it’s fatigue. this side effect will most likely run its course as I adapt to the med and then it’ll be all good. except that it almost shuts down my immune system, but because MS is an autoimmune disease, its necessary to keep my immune system from trying to attack its own body. maybe my allergies will get better too…
The fatigue has made working out really hard to do. Or. well, hard to convince myself to do anyway. I’m at my highest recorded weight 😦 but not giving up just yet.
I start taking a Spanish class Tuesday! a little nervous, it’s a conversational Spanish class. I did well when I was younger in vocabulary, not speaking. but I’m excited too to be able to speak more when on trips to Spanish-speaking countries or neighborhoods.
I’ll also be starting a small group at my church in a bit. I’m leading a group to discuss the Sunday sermon and how to apply it to our lives. Should be good.
9am and I’m ready for a nap, but I guess I’ll get back to work instead ;).
