broken

Not broken emotionally or spiritually this time, physically.  Broke my ankle 😦  I fell down my front steps last Tuesday (ice) and thought I just sprained it.  I went to the Dr yesterday, got a lecture about waiting too long, and after some x-rays and a visit to an orthopedic Dr, I’m in a walking boot/air cast.  At least I don’t need surgery or a plaster cast.  Praying for a quick healing, will you pray along with me??

Guess I won’t be doing that 5k Saturday after all :-/

Other news… Rwanda is off, for this year at least :(.  Long story, but the short version is that there’s room for 15 on the trip, we had 17.  There’s a group going from one church that makes up 15, so my friend and I got bumped.  All for the best, God will work it out.  Looks like we might go back to Costa Rica, which would be pretty cool too.

I was just thinking that I wish I had more good news to report… God reminded me of the best news of all – what we just celebrated, the Resurrection of Christ (aka Easter)!  He’s challenging me to remember the resurrection and it’s power.  Good Friday, the day Christ died for my sins is no less important, but maybe we get stuck there.  Or maybe we get stuck on the Saturday – He died, but we don’t understand what’s going on.  We think someday He’ll come back, which He will, but we then forget about Sunday.  Jesus rose from the dead!  Can you even wrap your brain around that?  That power is in all who believe!  Now, just wait until Pentecost!  Holy Spirit come!

Speaking of Pentecost, I’m in the middle of a Pentecostal Theology course.  Wow, my brain is getting a workout.  Wait?!?! What?!?! You’re Pentecost??  Not UPC Pentecostal, but I do believe that the things that happened on Pentecost – The Holy Spirit coming in power, filling the disciples, speaking in tongues, prophecy, healings, etc, still happen.  My God is surely alive, working miracles all the time!  Open your eyes and see! 🙂

I want to be as open as possible, safely anyway. If I've been set free in something, maybe I can encourage someone else to seek God and they can be free too!
