My first Valentine went off without a hitch… well, almost anyway. I made spaghetti and garlic bread and we went to a local bakery for dessert. Simple enough, right? Well, Mike apparently hadn’t used his oven in a few years and without thinking, I just turned it on to warm the bread. Don’t know if anything was in there or if it was just dust, but it filled the apartment with smoke! So I went to warn him that the smoke detector would probably be going off and he thought it didn’t have a battery in it anyway. Then the one in the hallway went off, got that one taken care of, the bedroom one went off, as we’re trying to get that dealt with, the one in the office went off. The 2 in the rooms were on the ceiling and he wouldn’t let me climb on a chair to get to it, I was trying to guide him to the alarms and trying to fan them at the same time to get them to shut up. It was quite comical.
Besides that, it was an awesome night. Definitely one to remember.
Things are still going really well with us. In that feel like I’m falling for him and scared to death stage now. Its like he’s has a part of my heart already. I know, it may seem too soon for that, but it is what it is.
We’re going to a missionary fundraiser on Friday where he’ll get to meet some friends of mine and he gets to meet my brother and his fiance this coming Sunday for dinner. Looks to be another eventful weekend. Hopefully no one falls or sets off any smoke detectors though 🙂
